Our Story

Although we upon first glance seem to be a franchise store….we are not, we are a 100% locally owned & operated retail superstore and soooooo much more!!!

Party Crashers origin comes from 16 years in the retail business here in the Westshore of Greater Victoria. Store Owners David & Paul Scotthorne operated a successful dollar store in the Western Communities for many years and spent these years listening to customer requests and ideas and waiting for an opportune time to implement them. The one constant was that Victoria needed a Party and Event store that would combine fresh new items but with more of a dollar store pricing structure.

This is what Party Crashers does. We carry a program year round for events such as Weddings, Graduation, Birthday’s, Over The Hill and Baby Shower, but also bring in seasonal items for Halloween, Christmas, St Patrick’s etc. etc. Here’s the kicker, we then combined all that great exciting stuff with a portion of the store dedicated to “Dollar Store” type items such as arts & crafts, housewares, health & beauty, stationary and gift bags. We then took it a step further and made that stuff even cheaper!!!! 99 cent greeting cards, 99 cent Panasonic batteries and 99 cent spices for example!!!

Paul Scotthorne is very proud that the “flag ship” store originated in Langford. “These are the customers who have always been very loyal and supportive to us over the past 16 years, and this community has a great feel to it. Being a 100% local business we understand that it goes both ways. We have been very proud to support everything from hockey teams to racing teams at Western Speedway and look forward to a lot more community interaction in the future! Our ultimate goal is that when people think about planning a party or event, our Party Crashers name is what immediately comes to mind as their first stop!!!”

David Scotthorne has a vision of what Party Crashers is about and it is a simple one. “Party Crashers should be a one stop shop for anyone looking to check off their party to-do list and a place they know will provide them with excellent customer service, and be willing to work with the customer. If we can do that well, the rest will take care of itself because we will provide exactly what the consumers want. People don’t like being treated like numbers, and every customer is unique in the type of shopping experience they are seeking.”
